Blazy or Lazy: ‘All of You’ Trailer

WELCOME TO THE TRAILER TRIALS.

WHERE WE JUDGE PREVIEWS WITH POPCORN-POWERED PRECISION.

We blazing with excitement or eye-rolling with boredom?

All of You, premieres globally on Apple TV+ on September 26

Quick Take: It knows it’s When Harry Met Sally—it says so in the trailer. But does it know how weepy it is? You can’t claim Harry and Sally without the goof and the giddy romance… though that’s totally Brett Goldstein’s sweet spot.

🎬BREAKDOWN

Story Hook: Over the course of several years, two young friends who believe they’re only friends slowly realize they’re madly in love—just like Harry and his Sally. But this tale diverges from its clear predecessor when a near-future twist is introduced: a scientific test that can identify your soulmate. What happens when the person you love isn’t the person the data chooses for you? That’s where All of You becomes something wholly its own.

Visual Impact: Not New York. Not autumn in Central Park. This one is waves on warm sand, cool light against tearstained faces. The color palette is crisp, salt-tinged, almost coastal Scandinavian. It feels natural and intimate—like air cleared by a storm. The visuals suggest we’re in for softness, yes—but also sorrow.

Performance Promises: Brett Goldstein might finally be stepping out of Roy Kent’s long shadow. His face carries new emotional weight here—less armor, more ache. There’s a deeper physicality in his performance too, with the old stiffness melting into something looser, more vulnerable. He’s giving us the version of himself we haven’t seen yet.

Pertinents: From Apple TV+, All of You is co-written by Brett Goldstein and William Bridges, directed by Bridges, and stars Goldstein alongside Imogen Poots.

Verdict: The trailer sets up shop on familiar rom-com territory, but pretty quickly turns the tables—and the tone. If When Harry Met Sally is fizzy and smart, All of You looks tear-soaked and philosophical. Whether that’s a bait-and-switch or an evolution remains to be seen. But if it dares to follow through on its own question—what do we do when love and logic don’t match—it might leave us wrecked in the best possible way.
